NC Sanding Sealer

 PRODUCT

A very quick drying nitrocellulose based single pack sanding sealer designed for use over wood & wood substitutes like fibre board, veneer, particle board before application of topcoat. Main role of Britex sanding sealer is to guard against dimensional distortion of wooden substrate as well as serving as barrier coat between bare wood & topcoat to provide best performance & finish. It fills wood grain without disturbing its natural look.

SURFACE PREPARATION & APPLICATION

The product is best applied by conventional spray at viscosity of 20-22 sec/30oC &

pressure 40-45 psi.

Ensure wood is dry, clean & free from contaminants. Sand the surface with a coarse ( P180) followed by fine sand paper ( P400) along the direction of grains. Dust off the surface & apply a coat of Britex filler if grain filling is required. Allow it to dry for 1 hr & sand off the excess filler & clean the surface. Apply a coat of Britex N.C sanding sealer after thinning with Britex NC thinner. Allow it to dry for 45 minutes. Sand off with P400 & clean the surface before application of topcoat. If the wood surface has lots of imperfection Britex wood filler is advised to be used as first coat followed by Britex sanding sealer. For minor imperfection the product can be directly used with satisfactory performance.

Do not use filler if grain filling is not required. Avoid application of NC products under high humidity to avoid blooming. Also, NC products are not advised over enamel. It would lead to lifting of the underneath coat.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

STORAGE & HANDLING

Storage & Disposal Store in cool, dry condition keeping container tightly closed in accordance with petroleum (mixture) order, SRO 1929 No 993. & dispose by controlled land fill as per requirement of statutory authority. Don’t empty into drains, sewers or other water courses.

Flash Point                             : Below 20oC,Highly flammable.

Shelf Life                                : Upto 12 months in closed condition

 

 

 

 

 SAFETY PRECAUTIONS & FIRST AID

  • Avoid contact with the skin and eyes. Wear suitable protective clothing such as overalls, goggles, dust mask and gloves. Use a barrier cream.
  • Ensure that there is adequate ventilation in the area where the product is being applied. Do not breathe vapor or spray.
  • This product is flammable. Keep away from sources of ignition. Do not smoke. Take precautionary measures against static discharge. In case of fire, blanket flames with foam, carbon-dioxide or dry chemicals.
  • Eyes & Skin: In the event of accidental splashes, flush eyes with warm water & wash skin with mild soap and seek quick medical advice. Never use solvent for cleaning the affected areas.
  • Inhalation & Ingestion: Remove to fresh air, loosen collar. Don’t induce vomiting.
