Product

Marine Yacht varnish is a single pack polyurethane alkyd & special phenolic resin based clear coating developed for external & internal application on yacht & other wooden surfaces likely to remain in contact with water. The product enhances the natural look of wood & has good resistance to normal mechanical & chemical, attack in addition-to water & water vapor resistance. It is also resistance to termite & ether microorganism & can With stand moderate temperature.

Surface Preparation & Application

For Wooden Surfaces

  • Ensure wood is dry, clean & free from contaminants. Use Vintage Thinner for cleaning the wood surface before sanding.
  • if required Sand the surface with a coarse (P 180) followed by fine sand paper (400) along the direction of the grains.
  • Dust off the surface & apply two coats of Yacht varnish with a gap of 6-8 hrs.
  • If the surface is already painted & the film is strongly adhered on the substrate use Britex Paint Remover before sanding & application of subsequent coats.

A coat of Britex NC filler can be used if grain filling is required

Storage & Handling

Storage & Disposal  : Store in cool, dry condition. & dispose by controlled land fill as per requirement of statutory authority. Don’t empty into drains, sewers or other water courses.

Avoid part use from the Hardener pack & never keep the lid of hardener pack open.

Flash Point           : 27oC

Shelf Life             : Upto 12 months under sealed condition.

Safety Precautions & First Aid

  • Avoid contact with the skin and eye. Wear suitable protective clothing such as Overalls, goggles, dust mask and gloves. Use a barrier cream.
  • Ensure that there is adequate ventilation in the area where the product is being applied.
  • Do not breath vapour or, spray.
  • This product is flammable-Keep away from sources of ignition. Do not smoke. Take carbon-dioxide or dry chemicals.
  • In the event of accidental splashes, flush eyes with warm water & wash skin with mild soap and seek quick medical advice. Never use solvent for cleaning the affected areas.
  • Inhalation & Ingestion: Remove to fresh air loosen collar. Do not induce vomiting.
