Product

2Pk Acrylic Exterior Polyurethane is an exterior quality long life polyurethane lacquer based on acrylic base & aliphatic isocyanate hardener. The product with beautiful surface quality is highly resistant to aggressive physical & chemical environment. Presence of aliphatic isocyanate, UV inhibitor & other special additives make it non-yellowing, non-chalking, resistant to termite & other microorganism & flexible enough to withstand wood’s dimensional variation. Britex Acrylic Polyurethane is available in pigmented & lacquer (gloss/matt/silk-matt) form. It’s water like appearance enables it’s use over light colored wood.

Surface Preparation & Application

Conventional & Automatic spray e.g. Shefla applicators are most recommended method but can be applied by brush & roller over a small area.

Ensure wood is dry, clean, free from grease & other organic contaminants, well sanded & dusted. Soak the surface with PU thinner with the help of sponge or rage for 10 minutes. Very useful on hard wood surface. Apply two coats of 2PK Acrylic PU Sanding Sealer with gap of max 30 minutes between the coats.

(This is a two part product. Mix Base, Hardener & Thinner (if required) as per ratio mentioned in the can. Mix thoroughly & wait for seven minutes before application for effervescence to subside). Let it dry & thoroughly sand the surface after 3-4 hours, dust off & clean the surface. Apply one & half coats of Britex Exterior Polyurethane. Ensure adequate ventilation during mixing, application and drying. Do not apply coating when surface temperature is 30C or more above dew point.

May require additional 5-7% thinner depending on ambient temperature & method of application.

Storage & Handling

Storage & Disposal : Store in cool, dry condition. & dispose by controlled land fill as per requirement of statutory authority. Don’t empty into drains, sewers or other water courses.

Avoid part use from the Hardener pack & never keep the lid of hardener pack open.

Flash Point           : 22oC

Shelf Life             : Upto 12 months under sealed condition.

Safety Precautions & First Aid
  • Contain isocyanate. Avoid contact with the skin and eyes. Wear suitable protective clothings such as overalls, goggles, dust mask and gloves. Use a barrier cream.
  • Ensure that there is adequate ventilation in the area where the product is being applied. Do not breathe vapour or spray.
  • This product is flammable. Keep away from sources of ignition. Do not smoke. Take precautionary measures against static discharge. In case of fire, blanket flames with foam, carbon-dioxide or dry chemicals.
  • Eyes & Skin: In the event of accidental splashes, flush eyes with warm water & wash skin with mild soap and seek quick medical advice. Never use solvent for cleaning the affected areas.
  • Inhalation & Ingestion: Remove to fresh air, loosen collar. Don’t induce vomiting.
