Product

A quick drying two pack polyurethane super gloss topcoat for application over wood & wood substitute with excellent gloss & finish. This is a higher solid formulation, hence  a single coat application over sealer is adequate for low grain profile substrate. On full cure the product forms a very hard & flexible film with outstanding light fastness, chemical resistance & mechanical properties including mar /scratch resistance guaranteeing a long-term protection of wood.

Surface Preparation & Application

Conventional spray, automatic sprinkler is most recommended method of application. Brush application is suggested only if application area is small. Fast drying nature of this product would cause brush drag & imperfect finish if applied by brush over large surface area. Ensure wood is dry, clean, free from grease & other organic contaminants, well sanded & dusted. Soak the surface with PU thinner with the help of sponge or rag for 10 minutes before application (Very useful on hard wood surface).

Apply two coats of Britex PU Sanding Sealer with a gap of max 10 minutes between the coats.

This is a two-part product. Mix Base, Hardener & Thinner (if required) as per ratio mentioned in the can. Mix thoroughly & wait for 10 minutes before application for effervescence to subside. Allow to dry & thoroughly sand the surface after 20 minutes, dust off & clean the surface. Apply two coats of 2PK PU Topcoat with an interval 5-8 minutes. Ensure adequate ventilation during mixing, application and drying. Do not apply when humidity exceeds 95% and condensation is likely. Only apply coating when surface temperature is 3°C or more above dew point.

May require additional 5-7% thinner depending on ambient temperature & method of application.

Storage & Handling

Storage & Disposal : Store in cool, dry condition. & dispose by controlled land fill as per requirement of statutory authority. Don’t empty into drains, sewers or other water courses.

Avoid part use from the Hardener pack & never keep the lid of hardener pack open.

Flash Point           : 22oC

Shelf Life             : Upto 12 months under sealed condition.

Safety Precautions & First Aid
  • Contain isocyanate. Avoid contact with the skin and eyes. Wear suitable protective clothings such as overalls, goggles, dust mask and gloves. Use a barrier cream.
  • Ensure that there is adequate ventilation in the area where the product is being applied. Do not breathe vapour or spray.
  • This product is flammable. Keep away from sources of ignition. Do not smoke. Take precautionary measures against static discharge. In case of fire, blanket flames with foam, carbon-dioxide or dry chemicals.
  • Eyes & Skin: In the event of accidental splashes, flush eyes with warm water & wash skin with mild soap and seek quick medical advice. Never use solvent for cleaning the affected areas.
  • Inhalation & Ingestion: Remove to fresh air, loosen collar. Don’t induce vomiting.
